Last week I had the pleasure of attending a cooking class at Las Ventanas al Paraiso in San Jose del Cabo. It took place in the wonderful open-air kitchen there, with an herb garden off to the side supplying fresh dill, rosemary, cilantro, and the like.
If you hit it at the right time, executive chef Fabrice Guisset—who speaks three languages—will show you how to make a perfect batch of guacamole or one of the resort’s signature dishes. In my case it was a beet & heirloom tomato salad with orange essence and and a red snapper “news of the day” (because of newspaper wrapping). A dessert array ranged from fancy creme brulée to the humble but always delicious churros with dipping sauces.
Of course it was scrumptious, and the sipping tequila with sangrita was good too.
All the places we feature in our Los Cabos luxury hotel reviews will provide a wonderful stay, but Las Ventanas is the only AAA 5-diamond hotel in the area and they are especially known for their array of services, whether it’s the spa treatments, the bath butler, or whatever is dreamed up by the Romance Coordinator. (Yes, that’s her real title on the business card.)
