Nice pics, i took some good one's while on the lares trek. LOL you should have seen everything I prepared for my trek in the Peruvian Andes. I took my ipod too just to keep me motivated (hey I as at one point at almost 16,000ft and needed some good music to keep taking steps). Peru rooms planned out our peru tours and also gave me a good list of what to take and what isn’t necessary on the trek. I got to see some beautiful Andean scenery and arrived at Machu Picchu on day 4 or 5 of the trek.

I like the fact that hotels are finally waking up to their wasteful ways, but I still feel like its a lot of window dressing in many cases. They're still lighting up the outsides of their buildings with enough bulbs to power a small village and ignoring their own signs when it comes to washing towels hanging on a rack. Very few hotels have systems that cut the A/C off when you leave the room for 12 hours.

And don't even get me started on all the bottled water. I'd gladly pay the resort for a reusable bottle I could refill with filtered water on site rather than adding more garbage made from petroleum. I'm sure I'm not alone.

It's going to take a long time for the luxury hotels to really come around, especially the big chains, from what I see on a regular basis.
