We tell a lot of stories on Luxury Latin America and we try to describe, through photos and text, what a journey or a particular hotel is like. You can go to the company’s website and see something slick and professional, or for a cruise you can check out a deck plan like the one above for the Ocean Spray luxury catamaran.
At times that’s not enough to really put yourself there though, to see the place through the eyes of a normal guest, so we like to give a little tour by video as well. Here’s a short three-minute trip through the Ocean Spray ship plying the waters of the Galapagos, from the top observation deck with whirlpool to the spacious cabin with a balcony. (I didn’t visit the crew quarters, so if you wanted to see that or the kitchen, too bad.)
A Galapagos Islands video without any animals in it? Well, you’ll have to stay tuned and catch that later. This is just to give you a taste of the ship itself, one you’ll be sharing with 15 other passengers tops.
If you want to read more about this trip, see our recent feature story on going From the Jungle to the Galapagos with Columbus Tours in Ecuador. You can book direct with them at the Haugan Cruises site.
This ship (and the sister one Cormorant) are also offered as a choice on high-end Galapagos Islands trips booked by other agencies. That includes another partner of ours, AdventureSmith, known as a specialist in small ship cruises.
