Le Blanc Cancun review

Le Blanc Spa Resort is not typical Cancun and it’s not typical all-inclusive, so check this one out with an open mind.

Among many luxury travelers who can afford the best of the best every time, the phrase “all-inclusive” is spoken with a wrinkling of the nose or a looking down of that nose. The whole idea, in their mind, is associated with mass-market vacationers stuffing their face and falling down drunk, whooping like a loud American watching a football game.

There are plenty of places like that in the #1 beach vacation spot in North America. They might even be the majority. But Le Blanc hovers on a whole other plane. It appeals to those who want to pay one bill and be done with it, but still eat gourmet food and drink cocktails made from the quality of liquor they would order in a nice cocktail lounge. It also appeals to those with a strong sense of style, people who want to be surrounded by beauty and well-thought-out aesthetics.

Take a tour of the resort and you’ll see this one hits all the right notes.

That video gives a taste of what the rooms are like, with the sizes starting at 429 square feet and going up (way up in the seven top-floor suites). The layout and furniture are well-designed and these sleeping quarters come packed with amenities. The four full bottles of name-brand liquor are a start, then it stays on a high note after that.

Marble baths have a wide array of Bvlgari toiletries, fluffy towels, robes, and a TV on demand in the main mirror. The technology doesn’t stop there: complimentary Wi-Fi, Apple TV, DVD player, and Netflix are included as well. Pillow menus and aromatherapy join nightly turndown service. Electronic safes are big enough for a laptop and espresso makers are ready for a morning jolt. Room service running 24 hours though and is part of the all-inclusive plan.

There are only a few all-inclusive hotels that have earned a 5-diamond rating from AAA and in our opinion there are a precious few of them that please picky luxury travelers who prize pampering over price. On the Mexican Caribbean side there’s just one Velas resort, Blue Diamond, Royal Hideaway Playacar, and Secrets the Vine. In many respects this tops them all. If you want to be in the heart of Cancun but be on a much higher level than what you can see in both directions down the beach, settle in here for a great vacation with no extra charges unless you visit the spa.
