It also serves as your luxury travel portal, with articles on special tours and excursions that are a big step above the standard adventures. We filter out the noise and just present to you the best experiences in exciting Latin American destinations.
In Luxury Latin America, you won't find endless listings of every so-called 5-star hotel in Buenos Aires or dozens of resorts in Puerto Vallarta. Only the outstanding ones. You will not read descriptions that are submitted by the hotels or written by travelers who may or may not know a true luxury hotel from an average one. Instead you will find detailed original hotel reviews written by seasoned travel writers and local experts.
If a resort is special and is likely to please well-traveled, discerning guests who demand great service, it will be reviewed here. But if there's something about it that could be better, or specific rooms to be avoided, we'll tell you that too.
We apply the same criteria to the luxury tours and excursions we cover. If a high-end, picky traveler is likely to be thrilled with how things went on their Amazon jungle tour or Chilean ski vacation, we'll write about it in detail. If there's something to watch out for though, or an upgrade choice that would make it better, we'll let you know.
Why Luxury Latin America is Different
The site is supported by advertising, but it is not a booking service: links will connect you directly to providers. Top hotels, destinations, and tours cannot pay to be reviewed here--only to advertise their special deal offerings. Our editorial board chooses which places will be covered and which won't, based on quality and reputation.
All deluxe hotel reviews and tour features are written by experienced travel writers who have been all over and seen the best and worst the tourism industry can throw at them. They won't gush about "what's hot this season" or give a famous luxury hotel a free pass because they don't want to upset anyone.
