The Best Spa Resorts in Mexico

Once again this year, Conde Nast Traveler had their readers poll results on top spa hotels and resorts around the world. South America was missing in action completely and only two Mexican resorts were included in the list! There are so many 5-diamond Mexico resorts with sprawling spas, it seems incredible that only two have enough name recognition to make it in.  Still, congrats to the Le Blanc hotel group, which received recognition for both its Los Cabos and Cancun locations.

Travel + Leisure’s Top 25 Resort Hotels in Mexico” list, published in September 2021 had a lot more heft and included lots of the top spa resorts we have reviewed right here on Luxury Latin America.

These magazine reader polls are subject to lots of ballot-stuffing of course. PR firms and hotel chains buy a lot of staffer subscriptions so they can put in their votes. (That partly explains why you see so many perfect scores of 100 at the top.)

But hey, in a bit of circular cause and effect, the most famous places do have the resources to keep facilities and staffers top-notch and with such a high reputation at stake, they’re going to go out of their way to make you happy. After winning these awards, the great ones tend to stay great.

Either could keep you occupied for days of rubdowns, scrubs, and facials. The W Punta de Mita spa is starting to get some recognition for its outdoor hydrotherapy circuit surrounded by nature. The one at the Conrad Punta de Mita will be a real showpiece once the extensive garden vegetation grows in and creates a bountiful space of shady plants.
